  • Nick Slie in Residence!

Thursday, May 28th from 7-9pm: Join Nick for Shaking up the Molecules, a free workshop and active site of embodied exploration for people who are curious about physical and vocal training, the centrality of place in the creation, presentation and touring of original performance work, and what a deep investment in social change could look like in the lands and communities they call home.

    THEN

Saturday, May 30th from 5-6pm Nick will be sharing old and new work from a ten-year project called Invisible Rivers.  This work activates interdisciplinary events that respond to the unique landscapes where they are hosted, layering new visions upon the untold histories of familiar places.

  • Bangla School of Music Spring Concert: June 6th

June 6th at 1pm, join PHL Artists-in-Residence Bangla School of Music for their beautiful annual spring concert and picnic! Free, but donations welcome!

  • Film Screening: Perfect Lives

Friday, June 12th from 7-11PM: join us for a special performance film screening of 20th Century opera giant (and Michigan’s own) Robert Ashley’s television opera in eight parts, Perfect Lives. This stunning collaborative work about reincarnation and the American West grew out of a stage work from 1978 and is “Nothing less than the first American opera, written within an American language utilizing various American attention spans: snippets for the channel switchers, layers of meaning for the smart alecks, something for everyone, and accessible. Works such as this put to rest any doubts if opera can or should survive, and how.” — Fanfare (Allan Evans), March/April 1999

This program would not be possible without the generous support of Lovely Music and Performing Artservices.

Free! BYOB, with excellent snacks and surprise intermission entertainment.
